My worst sleep is while in the hospital on meds. 2008, I was on morphine and it did not put me to sleep. I sort of drowsed for two hours, then awake until the next bit of morphine. 2018, I was extremely jet-lagged and receiving 600 mgs. of prednisone a day. That was ... ... strange. Then, when discharge I was told 100 mgs per day per tablet. “Take as soon as you wake up because it will keep you awake.” Yes, it did.
That’s pretty chilly. Where do you live?
Prednisone does keep one awake. I had clean cupboards and clean everything else thanks to it. But then I start looking like the Pillsbury dough boy after awhile.

Spunky, the next month or so will be especially difficult for you, but how blessed you and your husband are that he is able to spend his final days and hours in his own home, surrounded by familiar things and a loving family. It would seem that home is where he wants to be. Thank heavens that Hospice is available for you both.
