The character has been controversial with accusations that the portrayal is a racist caricature.

"The Simpsons" has been on for 30 years. 30 friggin' years. Now suddenly one of their main recurring characters is "controversial". The woke scold snowflakes will kill all comedy.

I think it's out of business now but for awhile there was a Kwik-E-Mart in dahntahn Pittburgh near the convention center. They may have had the name pre-Simpsons, who knows, but their sign was done later in Comic sans MS font reminiscent of the series

Making it worse is that these people are listened to instead of being blown off. Why should they be treated as if they mattered?

Some years back, TNT cancelled a Charlie Chan marathon because some crybabies said it was "Racist". Corporate America is made up of gutless wonders.

The entire show is stereotypes. I don’t hear anyone complaining about the cop that looks like a pig or the Italian mobsters
