A young girl is safe and a Massachusetts man is in custody hours after police say he abducted the 11-year-old after she got off a school bus. Charlotte Moccia was reported missing by State Police Wednesday after they said she was seen being forced into a car at around 1:30 p.m. after she was dropped off by the school bus in Springfield. Charlotte, a student at Hampden Charter School of Science in Chicopee, was still in her uniform when witnesses saw her screaming as the suspect forced her into a navy blue Honda Civic, police said. Nearly six hours later, at around 7:15 p.m., police received several calls reporting a car matching that description eastbound on the Massachusetts Turnpike, FOX25 reported. Police pulled the car over and found Charlotte in the back seat and 24-year-old Miguel Rodriguez behind the wheel. The girl was evaluated on the scene and didn’t appear injured. Rodriguez was taken into custody and is due in court Thursday. Rodriguez’s father told Masslive.com that his son has a history of mental illness, including schizophrenia and paranoia. “We knew that sooner or later he was going to do something of this nature,” Henry Rodriguez said, “but not something this crazy.”

Massachusetts....Miguel Rodriguez..............I wonder, is that from the Mayflower descended Rodriguezes?

No, he would be a descendant of the New Bedford Portuguese contingent which swam ashore in the early 1900’s.

I agree. Closing the asylums was a bad mistake that is coming back to bite us in the butt.

“It can be very difficult to hospitalize or force a mentally ill person to take medication.”

It’s impossible. I’ve seen this so many times, twice resulting in suicide, once of a friend, once of a very close relative.

And I remember the family of some crazy homeless woman in NYC crying on TV that they couldn’t help her, the City wouldn’t help her, and in fact the city was preventing them from helping her. They were black people, and you could see the crazy woman’s sister was just beside herself.

We need to change the laws, the insane who will not comply with treatment need to be incarcerated. In facilities other than just being put in prison after they rape or kill somebody.

“I bet even the parents were begging these professionals that their son needed to be committed...”

The mother of that guy who attacked those people in Monsey NY had begged a court to lock him up, no dice.

We can thank the democrats for this and Hillary’s work in children’s rights, specifically where a 13 year old has the right to tell their parents they cannot attend their sessions with the psychiatrists, psychologists, and behavioral counselors.
