Not until Connery took the role. Fleming made the adjustment in his new novels because Connery was a large conspicuous tattoo on his left forearm reading "Scotland Forever."
Interesting. I did not know that. I read all the books during the 60s.
Still Fleming’s Bond was half Scottish and half Swiss.
For the first time in my life I like Broccoli.
Ok, if we have to have a female James Bond, then we also have to have a female Incredible Hulk. (Hulk, not Bulk.)
Pick the most extreme female bodybuilder possible, then build up the brows, slope the forehead...
The thing about a woman playing Bond is the short shelf life of an actress. That means they will be looking for replacement more often. I dont think, given the physical demands of the role, anyone could do it 10 or 12 years.
Barbara Broccolis political donations show her to be a liberal Democrat, but she would be hammered by her extended family if she endangered the astonishingly lucrative Bond franchise through bad script choices or idiotic casting.

I think she probably made the statement not to be criticized for being “racist”...Imagine if she stated that only a white male could be cast as James Bond...Many people would attack her for being “racist”...
I am really skeptical that Ms. Broccoli would ever consider a black guy for James Bond...
You are no doubt correct. Barbara Broccoli may talk Left but she has followed Cubby’s practice of not letting politics undermine the James Bond franchise.
In the trailer they claim the film is Bond 25, but thats inaccurate. The Broccoli family only counts their productions. Never Say Never Again starring Connery is not a Broccoli production and neither is the original farce Casino Royale. So this will actually be the 27th film.
How can you say Bond film with Connery is not a Bond film?
$$$$$$$$
I’d pay to see Clooney Shafted
Let us not forget Ringo Starr's wife in A Spy who loved me.
Maybe a comedy -
My name is Blonde. Jane Blonde.
