It's amazing how beautiful coins were at the end of the 19th Century and beginning of the 20th Century. It's been all downhill since then.

One of my all-time favorites celebrating LIBERTY is the Augustus Saint-Gaudens' Double Eagle (below, as it appeared from 1908 to 1933), something that modern generations simply do not fathom or comprehend. The coins were so hopeful and confident about the future of the United States. LIBERTY was such a common these on so many U.S. coins of that era.

If the Dems had their way, they'd replace "In God We Trust" on all of our coins with a hammer and sickle.
