“Red Barchetta” aptly spoke to today’s leftist tyrants who want to ban private vehicles and force us all into mass transit...while they use private jets.

My uncle has a country place
That no one knows about
He says it used to be a farm
Before the Motor Law
And on Sundays I elude the eyes
And hop the Turbine Freight
To far outside the Wire
Where my white-haired uncle waits

Jump to the ground
As the Turbo slows to cross the borderline
Run like the wind
As excitement shivers up and down my spine
Down in his barn
My uncle preserved for me an old machine
For fifty odd years
To keep it as new has been his dearest dream
I strip away the old debris
That hides a shining car

A brilliant red Barchetta
From a better vanished time
I fire up the willing engine
Responding with a roar
Tires spitting gravel
I commit my weekly crime

He was an unrepetant atheist, and while I have a lot of problems with organized religion, it’s hard to understand how somebody could possibly believe that we’re all here just ‘cause.

Thanks Megan, now I know that you can get a song stuck in your head just by reading the lyrics on Freep. Had to get out the bluetooth headphones and jam out this tune (one of my favorites of theirs).

I am pretty bummed out from the news of Neil passing away. What a talent and in my opinion the best rock drummer ever. I am so glad I was able to see Rush on the R40 tour. I was holding out hope that maybe they would make one last studio album. Neil was one interesting and quirky dude. If you want to learn more about him and the other guys in Rush, check out “Beyond the Lighted Stage” on Netflix. It is awesome and one of my favorite rock documentaries.

RIP Mr. Peart. Hope you are riding your bike across the endless highways of eternity.
