The movie was good! It has been so long since I read the book that I can’t say how faithful it was but nothing jumped out at me as being strange. Guenevere, I do see your point. It took a bit to realize the back and forth in time periods. But after awhile it fell into place. We had a good time.

I should have also said the acting was good and the cinematography beautiful......
....but Masterpiece recently did a 3 part version last year and it was very well done.
I chose to see this, with reservations, because I wanted to relax
Otherwise I would have gone to see 1917.....and been on the edge of my seat!
I still intend to see it!
