Gotta understand Wisconsin. We do not have to ever register our party for voting. For primaries, the ballot has all the parties on it and you vote for people in just one, but you never declare it to any poll workers. Because we do not need to declare ever, many who consistently vote Republican will not call themselves such. They are more likely to say they are either conservative or independent. If the attendees had been asked if they were conservative or independent you might have a very different percentage.
