I’ll refine your point and say prosperity brings destruction.

Capitalism brings prosperity.

Mankind is fallen. We take blessings and turn them into curses. When we prosper we tend to rein from God and have the time and money to indulge our pet sins.

Poverty or communism is not the answer. Poor people sin too just not in the hedonistic ways that rich ones do.

Innovation creates displacement. Colt allowed the weak to defend themselves; made men ‘equal. Look around. There is less need for past social structure to survive. The machine replaced the strong back. It is hard to have social cohesion and norms when the speed of innovation are ever increasing.
