The excise tax, paid by beer distributors, is currently 14 cents per gallon. Bills introduced ahead of the upcoming State Legislature session would raise that to 30 cents per gallon (that matches the states current excise tax on wine).
there’s no mentioning increasing the tax on wine just beer to bring it to the same rate as wine...
it’s a tactic to increase the price of beer...
the same tactic used on cigarettes...
increase price to slow consumption...
the average person is most affected...
