Here is my impression of the much anticipated movie, 1917.

Liked it, but was a little underwhelmed. Either because the trailer kind of covered it, or I went in expecting too much.
I give it 3 stars out of five.Focused too much on cinematography - I got dizzy at one point and thought of leaving the theater. I like the actors, and depictions of life in the war - both veterans and civilians.
Agree. I was in the front row at an Imax theater and got dizzy. Thought was bad cabbage I ate but then realized it was the swiveling camera work.
I enjoyed the movie but it got a bit too fantastical for my tastes. It is a valuable cinematic depiction of the mud and blood of trench warfare and for that I will buy it for my library but wish it would have been a bit more historically grounded.
