You must not be married. When you get married you realize the world is run for the benefit of women. Men make the money, women spend it. Check out any shopping mall and the makeup of stores. Check out a department store and the ratio of women’s goods to men’s (probably around 80/20). Women always demand to be given special treatment by men, but when it happens then demean men as sexist.

Granted you’re talking about MARRIED women, but as an unmarried woman, I get NADA from men and have always paid my own way. As to the plethora of shopping choices, well, women are generally the buyers-if not for themselves, then for their families.

Though we are few and far in-between, there are ‘anomalies,’ as my husband calls them.

It drives me nuts when he does the,’Women want...’ routine and then he goes, “..but you’re an anomolie, so you don’t count in that group.”

AUGH.

I keep telling him that there are more out there like me than are known. LOL

Yes, I handed him my checkbook, as he manages the funds much better than I did once we got married. For some reason, I handled my funds better when alone as I knew there was no back-up.

Once I realized my flaw, I asked him to take my checkbook. He thought I was joking at first.

I get a weekly allowance and I’m happy with it. It causes me to plan on what I want to do, where I want to go, who I elect to visit or eat out with, if I so desire.

The only flaw in my allowance is that I like to tip upfront and he’s had to reign me in, even with my own allowance. He keeps telling me to let him pay it with the bill if it’s someone we haven’t been served by previously or a place that has more than one server assisting the table.

So I’m pretty even keel.

Twice, I’ve pulled money from funds to have work done on the house and at those times while he approved it prior, he also knew that when it comes to the house what I want is what gets done.

He learned that after he made major changes to my little bathroom renovation. How the man even began to think I wanted a bathtub and not a walk-in shower was beyond me. I wanted both, he thought it would look to utilitarian and instructed the contractor to ignore the walk-in shower request. Never will he make that mistake again. LOL

“You must not be married”

Longer than you and still. You’re lost. Pathetic.
