I thought conversion therapy referred to the attempt to turn homosexuals heterosexual, not to resolve gender dysphoria.

Could be, but I believe it has been expanded to include counseling for gender dysphoria. In either case, the left hates it because it has the potentially to make mentally ill people normal again. Only the mentally ill, power hungry and lazy will vote for their agenda.
