One of the problem in psychology is that a lot of those attracted to the profession are symptomatic with deviant behavior. No one likes to think that there behavior is wrong or sick, so a lot of times rather then identifying what they suffer as deviant they try to convince them selves and others that it is ok. They then try to convince the general population that it is those on the outside of the issue that are uneducated and just don’t understand...The writer of the article is right in what she said that having theses thoughts are not criminal but acting on them is but that is a truth about al thoughts including theft and murder. It was irresponsible of her to say this because like you said varies medical groups and psychology group will take this to suggest it is actualy healthy for children...the best thing for society is for pedophilia to be seen as the evil it is and not have professionals give people a false sence of understanding the behavior.
