Not sure how this fits for me. I’m retired for 20 years now. Bulk of my working life was spent 2/3 as a teletypewriter repairman with the last 1/3 as a cable splicer.

You’d be a good journalist, or maybe even a teacher.
I took physics in college, who was definitely a squiggle. Learned nothing from him, because he was trying to look at the “meaning” of things.
There was book out some years ago called “Inner Tennis”
In short, I like your combination, as it shows you’re flexible and not totally rigid.
I would say you’re a great mentor for people in your circle of friends and family.
