I used to shop at one of the original ones in Wayne, Pa. and in Springfield, MA. I loved it. That was late 70’s and early ‘80’s. Much more variety back then. Over the years I would still go there but bought much less, maybe a candle or placemats. Haven’t been in one in recent memory.

I remember the one in Yonkers sold clothes back in the 80’s.

Pier 1 was a fairly interesting store back in the ‘80s. Back then it was unique for a place to have all imported items. Nowadays it’s the norm. I don’t see what distinguishes Pier 1 from other stores that sell inexpensive home decor anymore.
