Writer of ‘The Graduate,' ‘Get Smart’ Co-Creator & Early ‘SNL’ Favorite Buck Henry dead at 89.

Also the actor in a SNL skit playing the creepy/pedo Uncle Roy who tells the story (including hand props) of "Eddie the Eel and Debbie the Donut". By the way, one of his lines is, "I just love children".

Looks like Joe Biden was the inspiration for Uncle Roy.

Thanks for catching that. I posted news of his death because I was hoping someone would do a little digging.

I'm a fan of "Get Smart." I watched it as a kid in syndication. As I became more familiar with Henry's other work, "Get Smart" struck me as an outlier as his main thrust was dark and often meanspirited. Also, his onscreen demeanor (bland "Everyman") seemed to be cover for a very nasty fella.

Anyway, just my opinion.
