I hate that Windows 10 cannot easily be modified.

Note what I have found, but of course that means using reputable safe freeware

Like over 200 tweaks available in in Ultimate Windows Tweaker 4 for Windows 10 From the Windows club.

Add to this Winaero features of the Winaero Tweaker

Then there is Right-Click Extender (add items to many right click menus) , and T-Clock Redux and Classic Shell, now called Open Shell (https://github.com/Open-Shell/Open-Shell-Menu/archive/master.zip)

Composite (with my own Quick Launch menu) using T-Clock and Open Shell, by the grace of God.:

Even changing the font I want needs a 3rd party software and a restart of the pc.

I can just right click on a actual font file and click on Install.

Yes Winaero can can change the font. See heading for Icon

In past versions of Windows this was easy and built into Windows and no restart needed.
BTW Winaero person who came up with these modifications must a smart guy. Microsoft should hire him.

advise requested......I have a lap top several yrs old....windows 7....since my puter isn’t safe as of the 14th, would one just download wind 10 or just go ahead and get a new lap top?

When you do not even provide for showing seconds on the clock or adding things to right click menus, and browsers that fall way behind in functionality (though all do compared to Firefox 59. ESR with certain legacy extensions ) yet offering a good degree of thoughtful options, then it seems to show two visions of what users want. As far as browsers, I chose a utility truck over a race car (though I use multiple browsers, thank God for such options) .
