Subhradeep Dutta, 28, was walking on a trail on Christmas Eve when the tree fell... He was visiting from Edina, Minnesota.
Emergency medical services were called at approximately 4:38 p.m. and first responders found Dutta beneath the tree. Dutta suffered “severe traumatic injuries” and was pronounced dead on the scene at 5:01 p.m., according to the sheriff’s office.
A forensic postmortem examination is scheduled for Friday to determine the cause and manner of death.

Similar thing even happens in the desert. After a good soak in rain you do not want to be out hiking where there are a lot of Cholla cactus above you and have the wind kick up. It will rain Cholla limbs on you. And they bounce around like superballs. Not lethal, but it can be very seriously incapacitating.

If you are in a Redwood forest and a Redwood tree starts to fall (or collapse?), get yourself behind a different Redwood tree. You’ll be safe.

“Day after Christmas”
So, would 10 days, or 42 days, or maybe 102 days be more appropriate? I mean, are you suggesting that you’re only compassionate during Christmas? I saw a dead snake in my yard this morning, and I was wondering if you can join me in a candlelight vigil tonight and have a good cry.
