Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu claimed Wednesday that Russian President Vladimir Putin told him the two countries could have found themselves at war had it not been for the close relationship between their leaders.
“Putin told me that were it not for our relationship, we could have found ourselves in the midst of a military clash… Only because we meet every few months has this been avoided,” Netanyahu said in an interview with Army Radio, a day before the Likud leadership primary.
“We have four times come close to collisions — our planes in Syria’s crowded airspace almost collided with Russian planes,” the premier continued, speaking openly regarding Israel’s conduct beyond its borders.
Israel has conducted hundreds of airstrikes in Syria targeting Hezbollah weapon shipments and Iranian military installations. The raids are coordinated with Iran-allied Russia to avoid a clash in the Syrian skies.
The Russian embassy declined to comment on the remarks Netanyahu attributed to Putin.

He also doubled down on his promise to secure US recognition of Israel’s control over the Jordan Valley and West Bank settlements after the March election, saying he could not, for legal reasons, take the step as leader of a caretaker government.

It should surprise no one that Netanyahu is willing to sacrifice himself to prevent Russia and Israel going to war which would undoubtedly start off a nuclear world war that would erase humanity.
Netanyahu is saving not just his country but the world.
Folks, this is a very significant statement! Netanyahu, and Putin, are acknowledging how close the world is to seeing the fulfillment of Ezekiel 38-39. These biblical chapters foretell a future invasion of Israel by Russia, Iran, and Turkey. The God of Israel, Jesus Christ, intervenes and destroys their armies. The next few years will be interesting...
As far as that goes, if Donald Trump was not the President of the United States, The United States and Russia would have engaged in a shooting war. The, according to the media, Smartest Woman in The World fully intended to go to war with Russia if the election in 2016 had gone her way.
It’s one thing to say that Netanyahu’s experience and line of communication with Putin helped keep things cool. That’s quite reasonable. It’s also quite possible that Putin said that to Netanyahu as a way of saying thank you for his statesmanship over the whole thing. It’s quite another to claim that only Netanyahu could have avoided war under the circumstances. Is he even claiming that? It sounds like Bibi is just pointing out his foreign policy bona fides. Nothing strange about that in the political realm.
If not for Donald Trump being President, we would have been at war with Russia. Hillary Clinton was foaming at the mouth to shoot down Russian planes, and lots of GOPe types would have jumped at the chance to fight the Russkies.

Many Biblical scholars believe Russia will be a part of the offensive that eventually invades Israel. This is normal thinking in Biblical Theology.
