It’s a Democrat thing. The only thing saving Florida from this same stuff is a Republican dominated House and Senate, and a Republican governor.
In the mean time, however, local government has to be ever vigilant of the (very liberal) Regional Planning Councils who want to increase density to desired areas. Who will then label scattered rural homes as “non conforming” uses (of lands) so these homes can be “eliminated” (refusal to allow rebuilding/remodeling permits, and predictably condemnation to follow).
Imagine giving these tyrants total control of government. The Revolution will have to be fought another time for the same reasons as before. And, as before it will be worth the sacrifice of blood.
This isn’t a nee thing for Democrats. Do any Connecticut folks recall the 1970’s “Greater Hartford Process”?
It was as a clandestine effort to outsource the poverty and crime of Hartford’s north end to smalltown Coventry. The plan included building massive projects on what was pasture and woodlands.
It was eventually stopped when the plans were finally uncovered.
