This really puts the lie to the notion that abortion is just another medical procedure. It shows that abortion clients are ashamed of what they are doing. People who have medical procedures are rarely ashamed over them.

I also suspect that drug-induced abortions are as damaging to the reproductive organs as surgical abortions. It would be interesting to see data on that.

Psychologically, it must be very damaging to adopt a strategy of lying about having an abortion. The very act of lying is an admission that killing a child is something to be ashamed about, and can only add to the negative emotional burden that many post-abortive women already carry.

So sad and disappointing in so many ways.

The serpent and Eve, never ending.

It's so evil.

And nothing new.

When I was pregnant with my Ben, 31 years ago, my Ob/Gyn told me that my alpha-fetoprotein test showed low levels of AFP and he'd made an appt for me with a counselor to decide whether I wanted to follow up with an amnio... or something.

Well this counselor actually preyed on me with worst-case scenarios of what low AFP could indicate: global cognitive deficit, deformity, failure to thrive, etc. I asked what benefit there would be with follow-up diagnostics -- because I knew an amiocentesis came with enhanced risk for harming the baby. He said, "Well, you want to really know whether this pregnancy is worth saving."

I said, "No matter *what* the diagnostics show, my husband and I are against abortion."

"Well, your husband wouldn't have to know."

"Wouldn't have to know what?"

"Wouldn't have to know you were terminating the pregnancy. We could just give you a prostaglandin pill or suppository, and you could have a miscarriage. There's no way to detect whether it was an abortion or a miscarriage. From our point of view, it *is* a miscarriage."

I was so angry I couldn't see straight. After I went back home my husband and I discussed it,and he was about as angry as I was. I shot off a red-hot 3-page letter, sending it to both my Ob/Gyn and the "counselor," telling them they were ethical Eichmanns and firing them both.

My unborn Ben!

He's the one that's now a USMC Captain, training to fly close combat support on a Harrier Jump-Jet with his name on it.

In my younger days, every girl I knew that had an abortion called it a miscarriage.
