My undergraduate degree is in history and I own and have read Robert Wilcox's book, Target Patton, which is the best widely available exposition of the assassination claim by Douglas Bazata. Wilcox's account has not been effectively discredited.

Thanks. I have a Master’s degree in Gemorphology and served as an Assistant Professor at the U.S. Military Academy and served on the faculty of the Command and General Staff College. In addition, I am a graduate of the U.S. Army War College.

In my opinion, I believe that the burden of proof lies with Wilcox, who must prove his case, not the other way around. I don’t believe that any of the conspiracy advocates have made the case, including Wilcox, but he has probably done better financially than most authors of military history. You might find the following to be of interest.

I remember when Wilcox’s book came out and was not impressed with either the reviews or the premise. Consequently, I’ve neither purchased it for myself or the military library I was in charge of. In reading the reviews on Amazon.com, I’m still not impressed with the book, it sounds like a nice piece of conspiracy theories. I’ll stick with the official Army records on Gen Patton’s death.
