I am very uncomfortable with any government (especially a naturally corrupt Democrat run one) regulating speech.
I really do not have a solution on how to handle someone who spews racial insults, but perhaps one could have accidentally looked the other way while the insulted person lands a perfectly placed punch on the perp.
The best test is answering the question "How many people were forced to stampede out of the movie theater".
If the answer, as in this case, is zero... no harm no foul.

Whomever passes & enforces those laws should be lynched.
It's a free country. Since when is it against the law and subject to prison time to hurl racial insults? They have freedom of speech.
People have the freedom to just ignore them, which is what should have happened.

Unfortunate, ugly and rare. People need to mind their own business. Most of us have experienced unkindness of one sort or another.
