I would imagine that they have until the end of the session. Not sure if that is this January or next. There are Congresses, and there are sessions. I know everything pending at the end of a Congress expires and has to be re-done.

Congress = session. This one, the 116th, expires in 12-1/2 months on 1/3/21, two months after next November's election and two weeks prior to the next president's inauguration.
