RIP. From what I remember Coach Fry wore sunglasses all the time due to a medical condition. I remember how he would have TEs stand up when in formation. Impressive coaching tree: Bill Snyder, Alvarez, Bob Stoops, Bielema, and Ferentz.

Coach Fry was the quarterback for Odessa High School when they won the state championship. The original “Friday Night Lights”.

Reading Coach Fry’s wiki notes Roy Orbison was one of his students when he was coach/history teacher in Odessa. An amazing career. Rest in peace.
