I preferred my Windows phone to the IPhone and android. I had android, then an Iphone, then a WinPhone.
I switched back to android only because I had to, or I would be that last WinPhone user. I found IPhone overrated and overpriced for my purposes.

I had a Windows Mobile phone in 2003 and I loved it. The iPhone didn’t come out for another 4 years. Microsoft should have had a lock on the market.

My situation is somewhat similar to yours: I had a BlackBerry; loved it, but switched to iPhone (4) because of all the hype and the vastly superior app store. Was underwhelmed with iPhone so I went back to BlackBerry. Still loved it, but could see the writing on the wall, and like you said...didn't want to be that last BlackBerry user, so I switched to Android (Samsung Galaxy). I'm happy enough with it, but still eye my old BlackBerries fondly when I come across them in my dresser drawer. 😥
Sorry about your WinPhone!!!
