A gangster in Amagasaki, Japan sprayed another gangster to death with 20 rounds of 5.56 mm the other day:
FULL AUTO Ar-15 pistol.
Peaceful? Yes.
Even so Japan does embody the maxim, “If guns are outlawed only criminals will have guns”.
However, in Japan, as part of their informal agreement with the government, only mobsters have guns, and they only use them on each other. If they shot someone who wasn’t a fellow mobster, then the government would shut them down.
Is Japan weird? Yes!
