I was at the game.
Army’s defense effectively shut down Navy’s pitch-out options, and also denied Navy fullbacks much in the way of yardage. They also shut down Navy’s passing game (such as it is). So Malcolm Perry did what Malcolm Perry does: run the ball, evading tackles and changing directions at full speed like nobody I have ever seen.
Navy defense was outstanding as they have been almost all year (let’s forget Notre Dame and Memphis, shall we?)
A glorious game.

Dittos to your full speed moves comment about Perry! (See #13). Since I posted that, I have given it more thought but I keep going back to Johnny Rodger’s insane moves. It has been almost 50 years since he played college ball but it seems like yesterday.
