Nicolae and Elena Ceausescu were commie autocrats and probably deserved their fates but they could have gotten a trial. A starving population and mob however is tough to calm down though.
Nicolae Ceaucescu was given a trial, and was even given the opportunity to plead insanity by the tribunal. He continued in his delusions, which led him to the back yard where he met his demise.
