I’m still in a gurney, reeling from last Sunday’s Miss Universe Pageant, in which my friend’s daughter was 1st Runner-Up (Miss Puerto Rico). We are so proud of Madison, however. But it stings!

My cousin’s daughter was once a first runner-up for Miss Illinois. She, too, lost to a politically correct contestant. That’s the world today, and has been for some time. And every time it happens, the world cheers, acting like it’s a miracle a (whatever) won, as if it doesn’t happen more often than not these days.
