thanks, looks like it needs a dock too? I’m not familiar with all this stuff- would the dock hook up inside the computer? I assume it would- I don’t have anymore available SATA cable connections or whatever the smaller HD wires are called- (There’s two- the larger flat main one, the smaller one that also hooks to the HD- )

Sure would love to be able to hot swap though and still retain full HD speed not bottlenecked by usb- Having s hard time visualizing how that would fit in computer and be accessible- i don’t have slots in front of case that are open

The dock does indeed hook up side. Power and SATA cables will plug into the back of it. Once you have a hard drive inside your system won't know the difference.

You will need a 5.25" bay, and an opening in your case to accommodate it. I actually have two in mine, one for the O/S and one for other purposes. Mine is not hot swapable, but I know there are motherboards that do support that feature. Next one I get will support it, I hope.
