Teddy Roosevelt was America’s first “progressive” President. The great-grandfather of all the meddling, inefficient, destructive, big-spending, social-engineering, debt-inducing nanny-staters and deep-staters we have today.
Anyone know the source of the decrepit political use of the word “progressive” as the basis of its current political application?
Roosevelt couldn't hold Lincoln's jock strap.
Lincoln was the initiator of Big Government and Federal Control over everything. Big Spending? How much did that war cost? How much land did he give away to the rail roads?
Social Engineering? Deep State corruption?
Lincoln beats Roosevelt by a mile. The only reason the Grant Administration is considered the most corrupt in US history is because Lincoln didn't survive much into his second term.
Lincoln massively expanded the corruption of Washington DC, and most of what is wrong with the nation traces back to his massively expanding Federal power.
