The serial number on the disc indicates that it was released early in 1958. I figured the title might have been inspired by Tony & Joe's hit
The Freeze, but that one came out later; in the summer of '58.

The back jacket of the CD says 1957, which may be when it was recorded, rather than released.
Discogs shows it as being released in 1958
