Damn, great to be a business owner in Beantown, then. If I ran a business, I could be offering 0.80 on the dollar, hire only women, and not only pay more than other businesses, but still have lower salary costs than any business employing men.

I actually worked for a company in that area in the early ‘80s that followed that strategy — hire women and you could get more talent and hours put in for less — back when that fit the situation.
Now and for most of the last 40 years? Not so much.
