The data has to be normalized by so many metrics; race, sex, age, education by degree field, work experience by field, others...
I was an employer for 40 years. If I could somehow pay a woman 25% less than a man I would have hired a herd of them.
Its a ridiculous statistic. I have seen these before. I saw one a few years ago that said male nurses make more than women nurses. They forget to mention that the male nurses on average worked many more hours than women.
