The Southeastern Conference is sending nine teams to the postseason this bowl season, and wouldnt you know it, nearly each and every one of them is currently favored to win their matchups.
The lone underdog from the SEC this bowl season is Kentucky, which is facing off against Virginia Tech in the final Belk Bowl. Tennessees game against Indiana is currently listed as a Pick Em but all other SEC programs are listed as the favorites this postseason.

That does tend to happen a lot in the SEC, but not always. Georgia is famous for it. It will be interesting to see how many of the draft picks from Alabama choose to play.
Agreed for the SEC teams who were jockeying for the CFP not too long ago. They'll play in the bowl game with as little enthusiasm as I had when my ex would drag me to a country concert. But the SEC teams who never really had a shot at the SECCG or the CFP will play their hearts out in the bowl games.
How the h*ll is UVa in a NY6 bowl? Stupid conference tie in for the Orange. I see a 2001 Orange Bowl Maryland style beat-down coming for them. I watched the ACC championship and they looked a step slow at every position. You could really see how 3 star recruits stack up against 5 star ones. Good school but a lousy football program most of the time.
Can you imagine being Jalen Hurts? He’s probably thinking, “Man! This is the 4th year in a row I’ll play LSU!” :)
Problem, also is a lot of players entering the Draft, sit out the bowl game.
The Orange Bowl is contractually obligated to take the number 2 ACC team. I bet the Orange Bowl thought they were going to get Miami or Florida State every year when they signed that contract.
See Georgia last year and probably this year. All their 5 Star recruits crapping the bed. The program without a heart. Watch Citrus bowl with Bama, same deal. I would take Michigan in that one. We embarrassed them last year and I think Harbaugh is on the hotseat.
That could be an interesting game.
Gawn Jalen!!!
They know how to handle the “grind” of an SEC schedule.
How many of the bowl games are not effectively SEC home games?
For those, they generally should be favored - especially against northern teams.
Can’t blame them. The possibility of losing millions of dollars for a useless swag bag that you can’t even sell the contents is huge.
My University of Minnesota Golden Gophers are playing Auburn in the Outback Bowl on Jan 1st. We had a great year - but struggled a bit at the end.
Auburn will definitely be a challenge. We’ll have to play at the top of our game. An upset would be huge but a loss, as long as we can keep it close, will help with our recruiting.
Mississippi State is so underachieving. Won’t be surprised if Louisville boatraces them.
Take Baylor right now. Georgia is in total disarray and has no business playing again this year.
