I’ve long told my wife I want to get a car so ugly & hard to drive she won’t ever want to use it.

I've done it, but kind of wish she would learn how to drive them.

404 Unimog, U1300L Unimog.

6 speeds forward, 2 reverse, mechanical four wheel drive and diff locks, and 8 speeds forward, 4 reverse with four wheel drive and diff locks air shift.

I find them easy to drive, but they have their quirks.

If you leave the shifting levers in a certain configuration, nobody who doesn't know Unimogs is going to go anywhere.

I remember the Unimogs. The highway dept.in Rockland Cty, NY had a couple for a few ueats, also the Air National Guard at Stewart Airport in Newburgh has one from the 70’s they restored and take it to some of the car shows up there.
