I remember learning to drive a stick shift, helping my dad set up his business at a warehouse, he rented a truck from Avis, years before they rented out trucks with automatics. He parked it in front of the building and let me drive it to.the loading dock and back it in. After a couple of false starts I got the hang of it. I was 16 at the time. I can imagine children's services having a sh1t fit over something like that today🙂

My dad and I restored a 1931 Ford Model A. 200 ci four cylinder with a three speed. I learned to drive that when I was 14. First car was a ‘70 VW bug. Still have a old style beetle ragtop. I don’t worry about it being stolen.
