What if u like stench?
If EVERY contractor you know is that (I have tried several words and cannot find one that encapsulates both my horror and disgust at the ignorance expressed by that statement) I really have no response.
I live in a house built in the ‘60s. I have replaced 2 of 3 toilets with low-flow units. The one in the basement hasn’t been used other than to keep water in the trap since I bought the house.
The ONLY problem I have had is with-—how can I put this politely?-—surprise emissions that would have challenged even an old-school 5.5 gallon Ferguson flush (ref:Married With Children).
Yes, the first low flow toilets were complete and utter garbage. The water flow engineers were finally brought in, and most of them work just fine now. If you are buying cheap Chinese crap, you DESERVE to have your bowl flow back into your ensuite.
B$. I have the new stools in my house and they work first time every time. This is the second home I have installed the new stools in and I couldn't be happier. The 3.5 inch flapper valves dump the storage bowl very rapidly and down it goes. Wise up folks do your own research if you have one of the old stools try it yourself.
Anyone have a few cases of 60 watt bulbs they bought a few years ago? Are you using them? Me neither, I can use 5 LED bulbs for the price of one of those old incandescent bulbs and get five times the light.
Things change sometimes for the better. Cars to day can go a couple hundred thousand miles with no major repairs and I for one am glad of it.
Old house had the old style toilets, 1 flush was all you needed. The toilets in this 15 yr old Starter home are the water saver’s and it takes at least 2 flushes, and they do NOT clean as well, they scratch easy too.
