I suspect the old stool is too short for you hubby and if he tries one an inch or inch and a half higher he will learn to love it. Don't believe all these nay sayers about how well the new ones work, they are fabulous I have three of them in my home mostly because the old short ones just don't cut it anymore.

It’s because it’s harder to find that parts INSIDE the old commodes that will work properly.
