By the time my kids graduated public high school in Southern CA, I was convinced that many of these youngish teachers and counselors were at the job because they never wanted to grow up. They’re still juvenile thinking adolescents trapped in an adult body. They’re also very narcissistic. One of my sons friends claims to have “smashed” (have sex with) the guidance counselor a number of times. Having dealt with said guidance counselor, I totally believe it. Thankfully, she was never that kind to my son so he was safe!
