This always puzzled me as well ... the purported affair is missing from every redaction.
Possibly, both relationships are true, between this pair.
Somewhere back there, in a sketchy memory, is a single comment that was made that a secret work arrangement was told to Mrs. P. Strzok, I think it was, to rather explain the undercover nature of their operation therefore requiring the constant proximity of the Agent to the FBI Attorney, Page.
Maybe in a transcript, somewhere, Ryzinke?, maybe elsewhere, but it never emerged again after that.
Something was being covered up, for the consumption of the neglected spouses, but was it failing “virtue”, or was it the seditious operation, or Both?
PS: Wasn’t it Rosenstein or Wray who explained away the affair, as reason to redact from the Relevant parts of internal probing, back when Wray did Not want Congress to embarrass the agents, during their Republican House majority oversight hearings?

To add a little speculation I saw elsewhere on the web, there’s a rumor boldly proclaimed that she was having an affair with someone higher up and the claim it was with Strzok was to cover that higher up person. The accusation in that rumor was that it was Comey.
