***So my question is this: When there is a trial, who decides which judge hears the case? Can POTUS choose? Barr? Other DOJ person? Is it random***

The Chief Justice of the SCOTUS, by the Constitution. But, just like the House, a Senate majority establishes the rules for the trial.

I thought the pictures in the slideshow at the link were interesting. I don't believe I've ever seen street photos of arriving diplomats in Mexico. Barr's convoy is seen traveling slowly through narrow streets with residential housing towering over it, people so near the cars. No exit if things "went wrong" in a country beset by cartels. Even the compound doors that must be opened to admit or allow cars to exit look like something you'd see surrounded by a moat. The Mexican president chose to tweet the picture of him meeting with Barr. Interesting decision.
