Would they remove Einstein from the field of math? The world is full, or historically has been full, of people that could be considered “on the edge” for centuries. But they accomplish what they go after, right or wrong. And the only way to consider them a problem is when they don’t do what you want them to from your, possibly, limited experience or capacities.
