Some of these are really beautiful ... all are amazing since the material (dried leaves) is so fragile. Lots more pics at the link.

I’ll bet she ‘dries’ them with glycerine to make them pliable; you’d never get a needle through a dry leaf without shattering it.

(I’ll go read the article, now, LOL!)

heart and lungs, very interesting and thanks for posting. I have made many free form things with a crochet hook, it’s fun.

Don’t claim to be a quilter, but found a quilting blog which might be of interest to those who enjoy the craft.

I got a VERY special Christmas card on Friday, one I look forward to every year - the year I don't get one is going to be quite sad indeed. The story behind the card: my SIL's mother is in her 80's. She used to own a knitting shop & has always been crafty. Every year, she cross stitches a piece & her husband photographs it & turns it into their Christmas card. They have recently moved to a "home" (assisted living) & she's had operations on both hands/thumbs due to arthritis & gone through painful rehabs. How she stitches any more is a mystery to me, but she gets it done. The designs get simpler every year, but that's certainly understandable. I was surprised to get a card this year, after the surgeries. Somewhere, I believe I have a card she did some years ago - very detailed and I couldn't believe it since I cross stitch & could appreciate every little nuance .... I'm looking for it and if I find it, I'll post a picture. So here's a pic of the card I got Friday - it's 'prettier' in person, but my (bad) photo will have to do:

That is so sweet and so well done, thanks for sharing. I have a great friend who is Jewish but sends a card every year, she does a linoleum cut of a bird or mammal, they are quite good.

I love it! When I was visiting Dad yesterday I noticed the woman in the room across from his was crocheting; it looked very lacy and intricate!

Next time I stop by I’m going to introduce myself and see what she’s up to. ;)

I remember doing linoleum cut prints in HS art class - all I managed to do was to cut myself, LOL!

I hated metal arts, too! I was always breaking my little saw blade. Grrrr!

This is the card from 2018 ... the detail just 'wowed' me. It's hard on this picture to see all the detail in that border. I hope she frames the 'cards'.

That is gorgeous. I wonder if she uses a computer to make the design. It is so precise.
