It’s a lame argument, although it must make sense to some people because I hear it used a lot.
What does Elizabeth Warren think rich people do with their money? (Since she is worth $8-15 million, she probably has some experience with that.) Do they just let it pile up and sit all day admiring it? No. They invest. They help create jobs. They build things. Even if they just spend it on luxuries, that money goes into somebody else’s pocket and allows those people to purchase goods and services which, in turn, puts money into other people’s pockets. That’s the same as the non-rich do on a much smaller scale. Even if a rich person spends his money on debauchery —to pick a wild and unlikely example of a rich guy spending his money on whores, dildos, and crack — that money helps the whore, the dildo factory worker, the latex factory worker, and the crack merchant feed themselves and put roofs over their heads.
Contrast this to the non-working person who uses that same infrastructure, which he paid little if anything to create, to go and do nothing in particular. I see these people all the time. I’m going to say that the person who used the infrastructure to create wealth has used it in a much more worthy manner.
Warren is a dumb as Uncle Joe but without the comedic timing. Shes more the Hillary/exwife screech.
