I see no reason why a dishwasher in the 21st century cannot be as fast as a General Electric or Kenmore in 1975.
And as reliable. Unfortunately, all modern appliances are cheaply made junk.
Exactly why the headline is misleading. Trump is doing nothing more than getting the government out of the appliance micromanagement business.
Well, if water usage is unlimited and BTUs are unlimited, sure.
They probably can be but the rub is that they would be a lot louder...we have a new dishwasher that is so quiet that you have to concentrate to hear it even while standing in the kitchen within a few feet (only noise if makes is when it drains - can hear it in the sink drain)....it supplements the cleaning cycle with steam and we’ve had one bowl that had some crystallized candy stuck to it come out less than pristine - big bowls top and bottom blocking some of the flow probably helped.
I have a new (this year) dishwasher, and Ill say nothing in favor of the requirements to make dishwashers use less power. But I WILL say that our new dishwasher is that quiet that you have to look at the indicator to see if it is running. Thats not nothing.
