Is it nearly time for Homer Simpson's last "D'oh?" The Simpsons could be coming to an end, according to the animated hit's theme music composer Danny Elfman.
"From what I've heard, it is coming to an end I don't know for a fact, but I've heard that it will be in its last year," Elfman told the website Joe.ie.
The Simpsons is currently in its 31st season on Fox and was renewed in February for a record-setting 32nd season due to air in the 2020-21 television season. If Elfman is right, that means the show could go off air in two years.
A Fox publicist could not immediately be reached for comment.

LOL
Tracking the Simpsons over time would indeed show how it started out against the Father figure.
From using humor as a tool they went right on down through using vicious humor against the Father figure.
Does that explain his rather mean-spirited cameo for Family Guy’s A New Hope parody (where... well, let’s just say that when Luke/Chris Griffin returns home to discover that the Lars Homestead’s been torched and the London Symphony Orchestra and John Williams died with it, it got replaced by Danny Elfman’s band, with Luke/Chris decapitating Elfman just as the latter was doing part of the Desperate Housewives theme)?
Haven’t watched it since the 90’s.
Great news!
