Maybe they should give the medals to the Piute Wavoka as his visions are what started the Ghost Dance craze.
Interestingly Wavoka lived on until 1930 or so. He resolutely refused to be interviewed by anthropologists, etc. Eventually he was left in peace in his wickiup.
